Fabrik chooses FesteaPay to implement its cashless and online presale strategy

Madrid, September 30, 2024 – Fabrik, the iconic electronic music nightclub in the capital, has launched online sales and presales for drinks through the FesteaPay cashless platform. Since June, clubgoers have been able to purchase drinks in advance from their mobile phones, avoiding the need to buy a ticket at the counter before heading to the bar. This new payment method was already used last July during large-scale events like Solomun's performance for the club's 21st anniversary and the Code Summer Festival, which drew over 20,000 people.

Previously, purchasing drinks at Fabrik was a two-step process—buying a ticket at the counter and then exchanging it at the bar. Now, attendees can pay for their drinks digitally from their mobile phones, either at the club or from home in the weeks leading up to the event. The reduction in wait times and the convenience of the payment platform, which integrates with Google Pay and Apple Pay to streamline the process, have already convinced thousands of attendees at Fabrik’s recent events since the start of the summer.

The club’s operations have also been simplified and optimized: now, each bartender has a PDA to validate customers' drink purchases, ensuring traceability for each order and allowing staff to move more easily between bars in response to crowd demand. Fabrik continues to offer its membership benefits through this cashless platform, as the integration with its existing systems allows registered attendees to take advantage of discounts and accumulate points that can be redeemed for merchandise.

The venue’s existing technology required an update to fully leverage the potential of the cashless tool while still guaranteeing bar service, which is critical during large events, especially during peak hours. FesteaPay employed a phased integration strategy, with numerous controlled tests designed to ensure each system component operated correctly. Today, the system manages all drink purchase validations at Fabrik, in addition to its cashless operations.
